Authorization Fee |
A fixed fee that is associated with the process
which verifies that a cardholder account is
valid. The authorization fee is charged for
every attempted transaction regardless of
authorization response. |

AVS Fee |
A service fee associated with credit card
authorization which verifies the cardholder's
address through AVS (Address Verification
System). |
|
Batch Fee |
The amount charged for each batch of
transactions you settle during the month. |
|
Cancellation Fee |
A cancellation fee is assessed to your account
if you terminate your contract before the term
specified in your signed agreement has passed. |
|
Chargeback Fee |
A chargeback is issued by the card issuing bank
when a cardholder deems a transaction to be
fraudulent in some shape or form.
Visa/MasterCard does not refund this fee
regardless of the outcome of the chargeback
dispute. |

Debit Access Fee |
This is a monthly fee that enables you to have
access to our debit card processing network. |
|
Discount Rate |
The percentage rate charged on the dollar amount
of each transaction processed by PPG, Inc. |
|
EBT Transaction Fee |
A per-transaction fee charged for Electronic
Benefits Transfers. |
|
Interchange |
The actual cost for processing each different
card type as mandated by Visa and MasterCard
based on the card's qualifying tier. |
|
Internet Gateway Fee |
A monthly fee charged to Internet merchants for
the use of a real-time processing system. |
|
Internet Gateway Transaction Fee |
A per-transaction fee for credit card
transactions processed over the Internet.
|
|
Mid-Qualified |
A discount rate that is higher than the discount
rate for qualified transactions. This includes
card not present transactions for which the
billing address is passed for an authorization. |
|
Monthly Minimum Fee |
A set amount charged to the merchant regardless
of whether cards are processed or not. The
dollar amount of the monthly minimum is the
amount in which the discount rate fees and the
transaction fees combined must total in a month. |

Non-Qualified |
The discount rate for non-qualified transactions
is higher than for qualified or mid-qualified
transactions. This includes card not present
transactions that do not include the billing
address being passed for an authorization, as
well as government, corporate and foreign cards. |

PIN Based Debit Card Transaction Fee |
This fee is assessed when you accept a PIN-based
debit card payment. No other fees (discount
rate, authorization fee) are charged for such
transactions. |

Retrieval Fee |
This fee is assessed by Visa/MasterCard and is
required for retrieval services. A retrieval is
done by the issuing bank when a cardholder
inquires about a specific charge on their
statement. |
Statement Fee
|
This is a monthly fee that covers customer
service and technical support, as well as
monthly statements that are mailed to the
merchant. |
|
Transaction Fee |
This is a fixed fee charged for each transaction
between your terminal or software and the credit
card processor's network. It does not depend on
the dollar amount of the transaction. |
|
Voice Authorization Fee |
This fee is charged when you call the Voice
Authorization Call Center for a voice
authorization of a credit card. PPG, Inc.
advises that you request a voice authorization
for all transactions over $10,000. |
|
Wireless Fee |
This covers the cost of wireless service for
merchants with a wireless terminal. |
