Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about your next move.
What is a Binding Estimate?
A Binding Estimate guarantees the rate (the price per cubic foot or per pound) you pay for your move. Unlike a non-binding estimate, the moving company cannot suddenly increase their rates on moving day. However, your total final cost will still depend on the exact volume or weight of the items you actually load onto the truck.

The cost varies significantly based on distance, the size of your home, and the time of year. A typical 2-bedroom home moving 1,000 miles usually costs between $3,500 and $5,500.

Yes! All of our vetted moving companies are fully equipped to provide certified weight tickets for military relocations (DITY/PPM moves) upon request. Be sure to select the military option when requesting your quote so we can match you with specialized carriers.
What is a First Available Delivery Date (FADD) and transit spread?
On long-distance moves, your First Available Delivery Date (FADD) is the earliest date you are physically ready to accept your goods at your new home. Unless you charter a private dedicated van line for $12k+, shipments travel on consolidated 53-foot freight manifests that operate with standard 7 to 14 business day delivery windows.
Why should I never pay a moving deposit via Zelle, Cash, or Wire?
Credit cards offer strong federal consumer protection and formal dispute mechanisms under the Fair Credit Billing Act. Legitimate carriers and booking platforms process deposits using encrypted credit card gateways. Any company demanding non-refundable wire transfers, Zelle, or cash upfront is a massive warning sign of an unlicensed rogue broker.
